    Practice

    India Desk

Your bridge to India’s legal and business landscape. We help clients avoid missteps and move quickly by pairing legal know-how with insight into how decisions are made on the ground.

Bridging India and ASEAN with Strategic Counsel

We are regularly instructed by Indian law firms acting for their clients in India,  or Singapore or Thailand on transactions and disputes. We also act for Indian clients based in Singapore, Thailand and India seeking to do business there or resolve disputes, as well as for Singaporean and Thai entities engaged in transactions or disputes with Indian parties.

Our dedicated India Desk streamlines and coordinates legal support for Indian entities requiring Singapore or Thailand law advice and ASEAN clients investing in or doing business with Indian entities. Clients value our ability to provide practical, culturally attuned, and commercially sound guidance that bridges both jurisdictions effectively.

The India Desk is managed by Peter Doraisamy, our Managing Partner and a Singapore-qualified lawyer with extensive experience advising Indian clients and on India-related matters. The team includes:

    • Mato Kotwani, a Singapore-qualified lawyer focusing on dispute resolution, white-collar crimes, data protection, employment law, and regulatory matters.
    • Pranav V. Kamnani, a dual-qualified lawyer admitted in India and New York, specialising in international arbitration and transnational litigation.

    Our regional advantage

Over the years, we have built strong working relationships with reputable Indian law firms across commercial litigation, international arbitration, M&A, corporate advisory, shipping, international trade, and intellectual property. Our India Desk is supported by seasoned professionals practising across a wide range of legal fields in Singapore.

    Recognitions

PDLegal has been recognised by India Business Law Journal as an International Firm to Watch 2024 – a nod to our growing track record in India-related cross-border matters.
